Danville Police responded to a home in the 100 block of Lexington Avenue just before 10:00 Wednesday night for a disturbance call. Upon arrival, officers found three individuals suffering from serious injuries. Two of the victims were pronounced dead at the scene, reportedly from stab wounds. The third was transported from the scene by EMS and is currently receiving treatment. A suspect is currently in police custody. 52-year-old Onis Donnell Moon has been charged with two counts of 1st Degree Murder. He is currently being held in the Danville City Jail under no bond. No other suspects are currently being sought in this incident. The victims have been identified as 87-year-old Valean Ferrell Barley and 83-year-old Royal Douglas Barley. The third victim continues to receive treatment and is in stable condition.
Reidsville Police are investigating a Wednesday morning shooting and stabbing that left two dead. A third person was airlifted to a hospital with serious injuries. Officers were called to a home in the 700 block of Lawsonville Avenue just before 11 a.m. Police found three victims, two of whom were deceased and one in critical condition. Investigators have not released the victims’ names or any details surrounding the incident. Authorities said they were looking at some “potential suspects” in the double murder and are being assisted by the State Bureau of Investigation. Reidsville detectives investigated throughout the day and officers blocked the road as police canvassed the neighborhood. The investigation is ongoing.
