If you like to travel the Parkway, take note, the road will be closed from mileposts 120 to 136, a segment between Mill Mountain Parkway and Bent Mountain, beginning today to November 30th while National Park Service staff cuts vegetation along the roadsides. The boom-ax that is used takes up both lanes of the road. The parkway will be closed from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. each weekday during the project and will be open during weekends. Work closures will occur between mileposts 91 and 106 near Peaks of Otter Lodge during the week of Nov. 26-29 and between mileposts 112 and 120 in Roanoke County Dec. 3-21.
