Do you have a fresh-cut Christmas tree this year? According to the National Agricultural Statistics Service, the average tree sells for $75 and it’s a $7.5 million dollar business in Virginia. John Carroll, vice president of the Virginia Christmas Tree Growers Association says this year’s crop has had good growth, produces good color, and due to all the rain, is well-hydrated. Some growers admit they are unable to keep up with the demand. Those in the business require 6-years to produce a first crop.
