A Flood Watch goes into effect tonight at 7 pm and expires at 7 am Saturday morning. Rainfall will average 1 to 3 inches across much of the forecast area. Some areas could get as much as 4 inches. This rain will be falling on the very saturated ground from recent repeated heavy rainfall events and snowmelt from earlier in the month. The rain will not be absorbed well by the already moist ground. Runoff from the rainfall will likely result in flooding of small streams and creeks tonight and Friday.

The forecast calls for rain to begin after 5 pm today, continue through tonight, all day Friday, and then end by 10 pm Friday night. Sun will return on Saturday, but more rain is expected Saturday night all the way through New Year’s Day.
