Rainfall up to an inch is expected across much of this region through the afternoon and evening hours. Given totally saturated ground in the region from recent rainfall, minor flooding will be possible, including along creeks, streams, and rivers into Saturday.

A vigorous low-pressure system aloft will track from the south-central U.S. into the southern part of the Mid-Atlantic region by tonight and Saturday. Widespread rain will accompany this system today and tonight. Cooler air will spread into the region behind this system, Saturday as rain lingers across the mountains. Then, high pressure will build into the region for Sunday and Monday. Temperatures will continue above seasonal normals into the first half of next week.
