The Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office has identified the three people killed in a Friday night shooting incident in the Hurt community as 42-year-old Twana Davis, Jason Davis, 44, and a 12-year-old who is not being named. Two other female victims were transported to Lynchburg General Hospital. One underwent surgery and both are being treated for gunshot wounds. Investigators say the two drove themselves away from the shooting scene and sought help at the B & B Community Store on Blue Ridge Drive in Hurt. Investigators learned that the shootings occurred at 3197 Shula Drive in Hurt. When they arrived at the scene they found three people dead from gunshot wounds inside the home. The sheriff’s office says women identified the shooter as Jason Davis, who was among those found dead inside the home. It’s not clear whether the case was a murder-suicide; however, the sheriff’s office says this is an isolated domestic incident and they do not see an ongoing threat to the community.
