Jason Owen Davis, who was found dead with his wife and 12-year-old son in their home Jan. 4, shot himself in the head in an apparent suicide, according to medical examiners. Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to 3197 Shula Drive in Hurt after finding two women in a bullet-riddled car at a gas station Jan. 4. They told deputies about a commotion at the house on Shula Drive and were taken to Lynchburg General Hospital. Both were related to the family found dead in the house. When deputies responded to the home, they found the three Davises dead of gunshot wounds. A gun was found “in close proximity” to Jason Davis, 44. He was found dead in the kitchen with his 42-year-old wife Twana Rhodes Davis. Their 12-year-old son, identified by Pittsylvania County Sheriff Mike Taylor only as RKD, was found dead in a bedroom.
The state medical examiner’s office has positively identified the remains of two bodies found following a residential fire on Dec. 5 as Ronnie Glenn Terry and wife Carol Ann Terry and ruled their deaths as homicide/suicide, Patrick County Sheriff Dan Smith said. Both were 56 and resided at 1249 Dan Valley Farm Road in Claudville. Deputies responded to that home about 8 a.m. that day in reference to shots being fired.
