A chill advisory is in effect until noon Monday and a wind advisory is in effect until 7am Monday as strong winds are expected to continue into the night. Wind chills could be as low as zero with wind gusts up to 45 mph in the foothills.

The cold wind chills could result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken.

The forecast for Martinsville calls for a low of 12 tonight with wind gusts up to 30 mph. Sunny Monday with a high of 28 and a wind chill of zero with wind gusts up to 20 mph. Monday night will be clear and calm with a low of 10.

Appalachian Power is reporting hundreds without power tonight in Franklin County and Patrick County. A few customers are without power in Henry County.

Blackberry Road in Henry County was closed this afternoon due to a fallen tree.
