A deep area of low pressure will remain over the northeastern United States for the next several days. A series of cold fronts will track through the low into the Mid Atlantic states. These will be associated with surges of Arctic air and mainly mountain snow showers. Temperatures will be below to well below normal during the next week. In the forecast – sunny through Monday with highs in the 40’s and lows in the 20’s. There is a 50 percent chance of rain Tuesday, and a 40 percent chance of rain and snow Tuesday night. Lows will be in the teens Tuesday and Wednesday night.
