The National Weather Service says northwest winds may gust to 40 or 45 mph Wednesday. A warm front will lift northeast across much of the region today ahead of a strong cold front that will slide through the area from the west this evening. Strong high pressure follows the front resulting in strong northwest winds overnight through Wednesday. The high settles overhead Thursday before unsettled weather conditions return for late in the week ahead of another frontal system arriving from the west.
