A memorial fund has been established to honor a former Martinsville prosecutor. Clay Gravely served as the Martinsville Commonwealth Attorney from 2014 to 2017. He resigned in December 2017, two weeks before he passed away from Colon cancer. Nine of Clay’s close friends have decided to carry on his name by creating the H. Clay Gravely IV Memorial Fund through the Community Foundation Serving Western Virginia. They wanted the grants from the fund to be used to support causes near to Clay’s heart, like outdoor recreation, animals, and education.
