John Hale the former owner of Brewed Awakenings in Danville has been ordered to pay restitution to the City. Danville Circuit Court Judge Joe Milam sentenced Hale to 12 months in jail and ordered him to pay the City of Danville $2993, then suspended the jail time. Hale closed in January of last year and sold his equipment to a Coffee Company in North Carolina when he was operating under a grant that included the equipment. Hale said at the time a road project that began at the same time he opened made it almost impossible for patrons to visit his shop. Previously, Hale owned and operated Binding Time Cafe in Druid Hills in Martinsville for 11 years.
