Colonial Downs has reopened its gaming center in Henry County in time for new legislation that could bring full-service casinos to our area. Although the measure has received the Governor’s approval, it won’t happen overnight. The legislation calls for a state study this year, and another vote by the General Assembly next year. Before Martinsville, Bristol, Danville, and other localities can welcome casinos, voters would have to approve in local referendums.
