The Henry County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously Tuesday to making solicitation of motorists illegal. The ordinance makes solicitation of money, distribution of materials or offering services to motorists a violation of the law. It includes the distribution of handbills, leaflets, bulletins, literature, advertisements, or similar material to the occupants of motor vehicles on highways or on public roadways and medians in the county. You can’t ask for donations from the occupants of motor vehicles and you can’t sell merchandise or services to them. If you do, you risk being fined up to $350.
