Devastating tornadoes that have swept through Southern and Eastern parts of the country over the last couple of days are finally on their way out. However, some dangerous storm systems remain possible in the Eastern part of the U.S. through early Monday morning.

Appalachian Power is reporting 2,384 customers in Virginia without power this morning. 142 of them are in Henry County, 143 in Franklin County. Most of the outages are in Carroll and Floyd Counties, while fewer than 5 customers are without power in Patrick County.

West to northwest winds could gust as high as 35 to 45 mph today and another strong cold front could bring severe thunderstorms to the area late Thursday night into Friday.
