A road rage incident in Mt. Airy, North Carolina left Axton residents Nayeli Sheff, 7, and her brother Prince Sheff, 9, with gunshot wounds to the face.
According to their mother, Aimee Hodge, the siblings were visiting their father, Graig Sheff, for the weekend. As the family was leaving Graig’s mother’s home, driver Byron Green was blocking the driveway. He moved after Graig asked him to, but followed them and later shot into the car, striking Nayeli and Prince in the face. Surry County police say Graig Sheff and driver Byron Green got into an argument before the shooting.
Police arrested Green, 41, in connection to the shootings. Prince was treated and released the same day. Nayeli still has to undergo surgery but she is in stable condition.
Green is being held at the Surry County Detention Center on a $600,000 bond.
