In order to prevent closure, a judge has had Blue Ridge Nursing Home taken into receivership, which basically means a new owner can be awarded the facility in order to keep it open. According to an article in the Martinsville Bulletin, the owner of the property terminated the lease claiming they are owed over $5.6 million dollars in rent. Meanwhile, records show the owners are delinquent on property taxes of over $200,000. The Rehab Center is currently about 75 percent full and the Manor is about two-thirds capacity.
