The Henry County Sheriff’s Office has seized multiple drugs as part of a narcotics distribution investigation. The operation resulted in 123 felony charges against 44 adults. According to the sheriff’s office, it seized pharmaceutical pills including opiates along with fentanyl, heroin, methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana. On July 18 and 19, 2019, The Henry County Sheriff’s Office, along with multiple other agencies, arrested 26 suspects on 76 felony charges. During the arrest operation, Anthony Tyrone Menefee, 45, was arrested for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He is currently being held in the Henry County jail without bond. There were also 9 subjects wanted by the Patrick County Sheriff’s Office for narcotics related offenses located and arrested during the operation. On July 18, The Henry County Sheriff’s Office says it executed search warrants at 101 Preston Scales Drive in Martinsville and 286 Tower Road in Bassett. Those searches yielded over three-quarters of a pound of cocaine, two pounds of marijuana, illegal pharmaceutical pills, four firearms including one fully automatic pistol, body armor and $20,216. Additional charges will be pending in regards to the evidence seized during the execution of the search warrants. The Henry County Commonwealth Attorney’s Office, Patrick County Sheriff’s Office, Martinsville Police Department and Virginia State Police all assisted with the investigation.
