Burning ban now in effect

Virginia is implementing a statewide burn ban before 4 p.m. From February 15 until April 30, no burning can occur before 4 p.m.

if the fire is within 300 feet of woodland, brush-land, or a field containing dry grass or any flammable material.

This law does not apply to charcoal or gas-fired barbecue grills.

Disregarding this law will result in a fine of up to $500.
