Election Day is Tuesday

Election Day is Tuesday, and a new ABC News poll indicates widespread voter unhappiness with the economy. ABC s Andy Field looks at the numbers.

A cold front was approaching the southern Blue Ridge, spreading rain showers ahead of it. Rain showers continue until later this afternoon, becoming more confined to the higher terrain overnight. The front arrives tomorrow and is expected to wash out over the region. High pressure builds in for early to mid week bringing a few days of dry weather. Warm temperatures continue before dropping back closer to normal by Tuesday.

Americans gained an extra hour of sleep last night as Daylight Savings Time came to an end. Doctors say this extra time will give many a new chance to reset their sleep schedule and get the rest they need….And while are tempted by an extra hour to go out and socialize, Dr. Michael Bruce explains for ABC News why people should consider keeping to a normal routine as much as they can:

Hospitals are packed throughout the country as cases of RSV, flu and COVID–particularly in children–continue to spike, leaving doctors and nurses encouraging all Americans who can to get the flu shot this year to do so before it’s too late. ABC’s Phil Lipoff has more:

In high school football: On Friday the Region 2C first round football playoffs will be at Martinsville, TBD and Regional 3D first round football playoffs will be at Magna Vista and Bassett, TBD.

In college football: On Saturday, Pittsburgh plays at UVA and Virginia Tech is at Duke at noon and UNC is at Wake Forest at 7:30 p.m.
