‘A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder’ to return for third and final season

A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder is coming back for a third and final season.
The Netflix series, based on Holly Jackson’s bestselling novels, stars Emma Myers as teen detective Pippa Fitz-Amboi.
Jackson, also an executive producer on the series, tells Tudum that she’s “ecstatic” to bring the final book in her series, As Good as Dead, to the screen.
“As Good as Dead is my favorite of the book series, and it’s by far my favorite season of the show too,” she says. “You’ll see Pip as you’ve never seen her before. It’s dark, breathless, horrible, and somehow still manages to be funny. Come on back to Little Kilton for the final time … if you dare.”
Myers says book three is her favorite book in the trilogy as well and tells fans, “Get ready for a crazy time!”
According to Tudum, the four-episode third season has wrapped production and will debut sometime in 2027.

The West End revival of Sunday in the Park with George is no more.
Producers on the upcoming production made the announcement of the show’s cancellation to Instagram on Monday.
“The planned 2027 production of Sunday in the Park with George at the Barbican will no longer proceed as scheduled,” the post reads. “Empire Street Productions will retain the rights with a view to presenting the production in 2028. Further details will be announced in due course.”
This announcement comes two weeks after Jonathan Bailey dropped out of the show. He left almost a month after his Wicked co-star Ariana Grande announced she was exiting the same production.
“Ari is one of my dearest friends, and my support for her is unwavering. … After much consideration, I have decided to also step back from Sunday in the Park with George,” Bailey wrote on his Instagram Story at the time.
At the time of Bailey’s departure on Sept. 1, the production said it was continuing on and casting new actors to play the lead characters of George and Dot.
“Following Ariana Grande’s withdrawal, Jonathan Bailey has informed the producers that he has also decided to withdraw from Sunday in the Park with George. Work on the production continues,” the statement read. “Casting decisions are actively under way, and the creative team is reshaping the production around a new company while preserving the ambition and artistic integrity of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s musical.”
The statement concluded with, “Further casting and production details will be announced in due course.”
Grande left the production in August, when she announced plans to take a break from public-facing work following the end of her Eternal Sunshine Tour.
“Ariana will be taking a step back from visibility after she completes the Eternal Sunshine Tour,” her representative said in a statement to ABC News at the time.
“She looks forward to finishing the tour and ending it on a high note, both healthily and happily, and then taking a much-deserved break from public-facing work and appearances, which has led to endless, ongoing public scrutiny,” the statement continued.

While Wet Hot American Summer celebrates its 25th anniversary this summer, its director David Wain has a brand-new comedy headed to theaters.
Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass opens wide in theaters on Friday. It stars Zoey Deutch as the titular hairdresser who travels to LA in hopes of sleeping with her celebrity crush, Jon Hamm, after her fiancé breaks her heart by hooking up with Jennifer Aniston.
Starring in a film directed by Wain and written by him and Ken Marino was “definitely a dream come true” for Deutch, she told ABC Audio.
“I love their sense of humor. I love their world that they’ve created and how specific it is to them,” Deutch said. “It’s always impressive to me when an artist carves out their own space in the world and then sticks to it with such integrity. It’s really cool and I think comedy is the hardest of all genres and they do it with such brilliance.”
Wain said casting the role of Gail Daughtry was “very tough ruby red shoes to fill.”
“We wrote such a crazy dumb script and we knew it wouldn’t work as a movie unless we had someone at the center of it that could really bring heart and grounding to it,” Wain said. He needed someone who knew “how to deliver on the humor and also just have the general charisma to pull off this trick.”
Deutch was “the only one we could think of that could actually do it,” Wain said.
The actress has had a busy summer. Not only is she the star of this film, she also leads the Netflix hit Voicemails for Isabelle and lends her voice to Minions & Monsters.
“I feel really grateful that people are seeing them and that they’re coming out into the world. I make a lot of movies that don’t get as seen, and so I just feel really grateful,” Deutch said.

Even more actors have joined the cast of This Summer Will Be Different.
Netflix has announced that Malin Akerman, Megan Follows, Nadine Bhabha and Matias Lucas have joined the cast of the upcoming TV adaptation of author Carley Fortune’s bestselling romance novel.
Akerman will play Aunt Stacy, Follows will play Cheryl, Bhabha will play Farah and Matias Lucas will play Carter.
This Summer Will Be Different will be “a simmering, sun-soaked romance set across multiple summers on Prince Edward Island about Lucy, a young woman navigating her 20s and her first real love with her best friend’s brother, the one person she was never supposed to fall for,” according to the show’s logline.
Sophie Nélisse stars as Lucy in the series. Francesca Reale and Roby Attal also star as Bridget and Felix.
The show’s recurring cast is rounded out by Jordan Rodrigues as Miles Lam, Jude Wilson as Zach, Natalie Brown as Christine, James Tupper as Ken, Tom Barnett as Peter and Celia Owen as Joy.
Dane Clark and Linsey Stewart serve as the adaptation’s creators and showrunners. They also both executive produce the show alongside Fortune.
This Summer Will Be Different has wrapped filming on location in Prince Edward Island and is currently now filming in Toronto. The show will span 10 episodes.

Nélisse and Bhabha previously worked together on season 1 of Heated Rivalry. Akerman stars in Netflix’s The Hunting Wives, while Follows is known for her roles in Anne of Green Gables and Reign.
