A fire at a home on Fellowship Drive in Henry County claimed the life of one person, according to fire officials. The Red Cross was assisting another resident who was not at home at the time of the fire.
Responders arrived at a fully engulfed house shortly after midnight on Sunday. The cause has not been determined, but the fire was thought to have originated in a bedroom.
The body has been taken to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Roanoke for identification.
