Adrien Brody has two Oscars, but could he be looking to earn a Tony?
The actor will make his Broadway debut in the new play The Fear of 13. He will star alongside Tessa Thompson, who also makes her Broadway debut in the upcoming stage production.
The Fear of 13 is written by Olivier Award nominee Lindsey Ferrentino. It’s based on the 2015 documentary film, which was directed by David Sington. This upcoming Broadway staging of Ferrentino’s work will be directed by Tony Award winner David Cromer.
The play tells the true story of Nick Yarris (Brody), who spends over two decades on death row for a murder he says he did not commit. Its story is told through a series of prison visits with a volunteer named Jackie (Thompson), who listens as Nick tells the story of his life.
“As Nick and Jackie’s conversations deepen, the line between witness and participant blurs, forcing both to confront what justice demands, what belief requires, and the perilous distance between true freedom and the illusion of self-determination,” according to an official synopsis.
Performances start at New York City’s James Earl Jones Theatre on March 19, with an opening night set for April 15.
Additionally, The Fear of 13 has partnered with the not-for-profit organization Innocence Project, which has a mission to free those who are innocent, prevent wrongful convictions and create fair, compassionate and equitable systems of justice for all people.
Yarris was the first person sentenced to death in Pennsylvania to be exonerated by DNA evidence. ChristinaSwarms, who was one of his attorneys, currently serves as executive director of Innocence Project.
Tickets will be available for purchase staring on Jan. 20 for an Amex presale. A fan presale starts on Jan. 22, while general tickets will become available on Jan. 23.

Just days after telling Rolling Stone that fans can expect new music, Travis Scott appears to have more surprises in store. He appeared in a first-look trailer for Christopher Nolan’s Greek epic The Odyssey, which aired Sunday during the NFL AFC Championship game between the New England Patriots and the Denver Broncos.
In the teaser, he stands on a table, warning a group of soldiers about an upcoming war.
“A war, a man, a trick — a trick to break the walls of Troy,” he says, as clips from the film’s iteration of the Trojan War appear on screen. “[It’s] burning, screaming to the ground.”
The film stars Matt Damon as the Greek hero Odysseus, Tom Holland, Lupita Nyong’o, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, JonBernthal, Benny Safdie and Elliot Page.
The project marks another collaboration between Nolan and Scott, who previously worked together on Nolan’s 2020 film Tenet, for which Scott recorded the song “The Plan.”
The Odyssey is set to premiere in theaters on July 17.

Heated Rivalry star Connor Storrie and Abbott Elementary actress Janelle James have been tapped to present the nominations for the 32nd annual Actor Awards.
The live nomination announcement will take place on Jan. 7 at 1:00 p.m. ET from the SAG-AFTRA Foundation’s Tom Hanks & Rita Wilson Screening Room. It will stream on YouTube.
In addition to Storrie and James, the nominations announcement will also feature Grey’s Anatomy actor JasonGeorge and Grand Hotel actress Elizabeth McLaughlin as the stunt presenters.
SAG-AFTRA President Sean Astin will also appear during the nominations announcement broadcast to give opening remarks.
The Actor Awards presented by SAG-AFTRA is the new name for the ceremony formerly known as the SAG Awards.
According to the guild, which announced the name change on Nov. 14, 2025, this decision was made in order to align the show’s name with the physical statuette itself, which is known as The Actor.
“Evolving the show’s name to align with the award itself made obvious sense,” SAG-AFTRA said at the time in a FAQ section on its website. “We wanted to provide clearer recognition in terms of what the show is about for our domestic and global audiences – we honor actors in film and television. Laser-focusing the name on those two things became the clearest and most straightforward path for this new chapter of the show.”
The guild also said that as the awards ceremony has expanded its global audience due to streaming on Netflix, the timing felt right to make the name change so as to “step confidently into the show’s next era.”
