Obituaries

Ms. Barbara Ann Matthews of Martinsville, VA, passed away in the early morning hours of November 14th, 2025. She was born on December 25th, 1931, to William Commodore Matthews and Cornelia A. Matthews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Carl Matthews; and her sisters, Lillian Thornton, Cleo Boaz, Theresa Hobson, Mildred Turner, Dale Barrow, Carleen Barrow, and Marlene Holland. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Ann Matthews of Germany and many nieces and nephews. Barbara worked for E.I. Dupont until her retirement.

A Graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 20th, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at Roselawn Burial Park, in Martinsville, Virginia.
