Barbara Jean Cockram Felts, 71, of Axton, Virginia passed away Sunday, March 22, 2026. She was born January 1, 1955, in Charity, Virginia, to the late Roy Chester Cockram and Betty June Hall Cockram Spencer.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Jason Richard Felts; brothers, Hubert Lee Cockram, Roy Lee Cockram, and John Wayne Cockram.

Barbara was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church and a graduate of Bassett High School. She was last employed as a caregiver, showing a natural heart for tending to others. She enjoyed cooking, spending time with family and friends, attending her granddaughter’s events, planting flowers, and watching hummingbirds and butterflies. She loved being at church and found joy in feeding and caring for those around her.

She is survived by her former spouse, Peter Richard “Rick” Felts; daughter, Sherri Lynn Boyd (Brandon); sister, Linda Cockram Barbour (Clete); brother, Herbert Cockram (Hilda); one granddaughter, Breanna Lynn Boyd; special son, Jonathan Salmons (Tara); nieces, Hope Lee Lewis, Sarah Baker (R.L.), Amanda Dawn Cockram, Heather Paige Cockram; nephews, Clay Barbour (Jan), Brad Barbour (Christina); several great-nieces and great-nephews; and numerous relatives and friends.

The funeral will be held Friday, March 27, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Martinsville Chapel with Pastor Steve Tilley and Pastor Brad Barbour officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, 711 Church Street, Ridgeway, Virginia 24148. A Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
