Obituaries

Bettie Kay Clifton, 82, of Ridgeway, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2026. She was born December 28, 1943, to the late A. Bishop Clifton and Jennie Morris Snead Clifton Rea.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Charles Winston Clifton; sister, Becky Phillips; brother-in-law Don Phillips; brother-in-law C.H. Fallin; and sister-in-law Leah Clifton.

Bettie was a dedicated employee for many years at Unifi in Madison, North Carolina, where she worked as a doffer. She had a deep love for dogs and found great joy in tending her yard, growing beautiful flowers, and feeding and watching the birds.

She is survived by her sister, Dale Fallin; brother, Ron “Fish” Clifton; nephews, Gil (Charlene) Phillips, Chad (Mellisa) Fallin, Zac Clifton; nieces, Jennifer (Jay) Glidewell, Kim Clifton, Kerri (Paul) Missett; three great-nephews; three great-nieces; five great-great-nephews; and special friend, Christopher Penn.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Martinsville Chapel with Pastor Irvin Clifton officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens located at 1821 Ashley Loop Road, Reidsville, North Carolina. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
