Obituaries

Betty Lou Taylor, 83, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2026. She was born on March 30, 1943, in Franklin County, Virginia, to the late Luther James Robertson and Susie Ada Matilda Morris Robertson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Calvin Taylor; son, Jimmy Lynn Taylor; and her brothers, Gerald Lee Robertson, James Clarence Robertson, Donnie Ray Robertson, Russell Hayward Robertson, and Kenneth Paul Robertson.

Betty worked for many years in the manufacturing industry and later served as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She was a member of Jones Chapel Church of the Brethren. She enjoyed being outdoors, planting flowers, and watching the hummingbirds. She loved her family dearly.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Wanda Taylor; sister, Patricia Robertson Hodges; granddaughter, Jessica Fackler; and great-grandchild, Cheyenne Geramita; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Martinsville Chapel, with Pastor Helen S. Walker officiating. Interment will follow at the Taylor Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
