Obituaries

David Alan Poore, 70, of Rocky Mount, Virginia, went to his heavenly home Tuesday, March 24, 2026. He was born October 6, 1955, in Martinsville, Virginia, to the late Marce S. Poore and Irma Mize Poore.

David was of the Christian faith and was a member of the Collinsville Covenant Brethren Church. He was a graduate at Fieldale – Collinsville High School. He had a career with Tacoma for over 30 years which led him to share his good work ethic with his family. David was an avid gardener and enjoyed working outdoors or enjoying a good book while enjoying the fresh air. He was a big Cowboys fan, and you could find him on game days in front of the Television rooting for his favorite team. He loved artwork. Most of all, David loved his family and his children and wanted to spend as much time with them as possible.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Jessica Rill (Chris), Dustin Poore (Tammy); sisters, Judy Norman (Ken), Brenda Daniska (Mark), Shirley Ward; Brother, Bill Poore (Kim), a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Roselawn Burial Park in Martinsville, Virginia with Reverend Roy McVey officiating. There will be a funeral service held Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Collinsville Covenant Brethren Church, 553 W John Redd Blvd, Collinsville, VA 24078.
