David Duane Bowen, 60, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2026. He was born on February 14, 1966, in Martinsville, Virginia, to the late Ivan Duane Bowen and Peggy Ann Burnette Bowen.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ivan Lincoln Bowen and Betty May Farmer Bowen; and his maternal grandparents, Ed Barnette, and Anna Sutphin Burnette.

David was a graduate of Martinsville High School, class of 1985. He enjoyed listening to music, particularly his favorite rock band, KISS. David always enjoyed eating pizza with a good, cold Mountain Dew. He found peace in his faith in God.

He is survived by Gary and Margaret Hill; Larry and Phyllis Taylor; cousins, Crystal and Leslie; and extended family and friends.

The friends and family would like to extend their gratitude for the expressions of kindness that have been shown during their time of grief.
