Delores Fay Meadows Elkins, 85, of Axton, VA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at her home. She was born on September 2, 1940, in West Virginia to the late James Meadows and Phyllis Louise Walker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Steven Shawn Elkins; son-in-law, Wendell Adkins, Jr., and her brothers, Clyde Meadows (Irene), Donald Meadows (Martha), Phyllis Norris (Thomas), and Bobby Ray Meadows (Linda).

She never met a stranger and loved everyone she met. Delores was a safe space for anyone in need, often opening her home to those who needed a loving environment or a warm meal. She had a fondness for junk food and a Diet Pepsi, which brought her simple joy. Delores was a collector of many things and a devoted Christian, living her faith through kindness, generosity, and love for others. She was especially cherished as the favorite aunt to her nieces and nephews, who adored her dearly.

Surviving are her children, Donna Elkins Adkins, James Ezra Elkins, Jr. (Regina), and Robert Swafford; sister, Ella Lowman; grandchildren, Katie, Ruthie, Chris, Mike, Tiffani (Ed), Elise, James, Alan (Jasmine), and Kelsey (Cameron); great-grandchildren, Victor, Isabelle, Trevor, Autumn, Jacob, Maggie, Alder, Grace, Faith and Alexandria. She is also survived by one great-great-grandson, Lohnny.
