Obituaries

Dorothy Wray McGhee, 81, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 31, 2026. She was born on August 1, 1944, to the late Raymond Wray and Elizabeth Gilley Wray. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Stanley McGhee; sister, Mary Myers; and brother, Junior Wray.

Dorothy worked for Martinsville City Schools, in the cafeteria, for many years. She attended McCabe Memorial Baptist Church.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Kimberly McGhee; sisters, Marie Toler, Wanda Hankins, and Darnell Scruggs; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Norris Funeral Services. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 13, 2026, with Pastor Lee Ashley officiating at Norris Funeral Services, Martinsville Chapel. Burial will follow the service at Roselawn Burial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donation be made to the American Cancer Society in Dorothy’s honor.
