Obituary For Eunice Arlene Roberts
Eunice Roberts, 78, of Collinsville, Virginia, entered her eternal rest Wednesday, November 26, 2025. She was born in Martinsville, Virginia, on September 13, 1947, to the late Thomas Leonard Emerson and Nannie Arlene Merrimon Emerson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Eugene Willis Roberts; infant daughter, Linda; son, Richard Wayne Roberts; and three brothers, Jimmy Ray Emerson, James “Jay” Leonard Emerson, and Thomas Lee Emerson.
Eunice was of the Christian faith and poured love into her family. This was evidenced by her enjoyment of weekly lunches with the family where everyone was gathered around the table for great food and conversation. Her love for cooking and baking spilled over into a fulfilling career as a cafeteria worker in the Henry County School System. In her leisure time, Eunice enjoyed traveling. Whether at the mountains of Gatlinburg, Tennessee, the beach, or anywhere in between, she found enjoyment in shopping and making memories. She liked watching her favorite television shows, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. Above all, she enjoyed caring for her grandchildren. The legacy of faith and love she left behind will forever be imprinted on the hearts of her family and friends.
Left to honor and cherish her memory are her son, David Eugene Roberts (Melissa); sister, Rebecca Mabry (Alan); brothers, Ronald Wayne Emerson (Donna), William Eugene Emerson; grandchildren, Ryan Roberts, Tiffany Roberts, Richard Roberts; great-grandson, Wesley Roberts; daughter-in-law, Kim Roberts; three nieces, several nephews, extended family, and friends; and special friends, Sadie Carter and Katie Hutcherson.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at 1:30 PM at Wright Funeral Service Martinsville Chapel with Pastor Jason Alverson officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Burial Park, 103 Clearview Drive, Martinsville, Virginia 24112. Visitation will be held one-half hour prior to the service.
