Obituary For Frank Dillard

Deacon Frank Dillard, 83, of Bassett, Virginia, entered his eternal rest with his Savior on Sunday, May 3, 2026. He was born December 27, 1942, in Virginia to the late Edd Smith Dillard and the late Rosie Casey Dillard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Maurice Dillard and Robert Dillard.

Deacon Frank was of the Christian faith and served as a Deacon at Greater Vision Assembly Holiness Church in Collinsville, Virginia. He was a dedicated employee of J.D. Bassett Furniture, where he worked in the shipping department for over three decades. He played the guitar and loved singing gospel songs. His favorite television shows included The Three Stooges and westerns, which brought him much laughter. He also enjoyed good food, especially hot cups of coffee and biscuits with chicken, as prepared daily by his wife. Deacon Frank loved his family, and he had a special love for all animals, they brought him joy!

Left to honor and cherish his memory are his loving wife, Elder Gearldene Dillard; daughters, Minister Janet Thomas of Bassett, Virginia, and Latasha Dillard of Atlanta, Georgia; son, Jerry Dillard of Bassett, Virginia; sisters, Pastor Fibbie Hairston of Martinsville, Virginia, Elder Paulette Hairston (Jake) of Bassett, Virginia, Minister Lottie Hairston, and Joe Ann Martin (Roy) of Martinsville, Virginia; brother, Jerome Dillard (Bishop Loretta Dillard); four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends.

There will be a floating visitation from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Monday, May 11, 2026 at Wright Funeral Service Martinsville Chapel.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Martinsville Chapel. Interment will follow at Carver Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends at the home from 4:00 PM-7:00 PM nightly.
