Larry Johnson, the mastermind behind Mindvisions and Taboo Ink, featured in ink magazines and over 30 years of tattoo experience, left quite the mark.

Gary Lawrence “Larry” Johnson II, 56, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2026. He was born on March 23, 1970, in Danville, Virginia to the late Gary Lawrence Johnson, Sr. and Patricia Moore Hopkins of Danville, VA.

Larry shared his artistic gift with the world. He will truly be remembered for all the joy he inspired through his work.

Larry is survived by three sons, Christian Johnson, Zane Johnson, and Zachary Johnson; one daughter, Triva Michelle Gann; brother, Lea Johnson, and grandchildren, Christian “C.J.” Johnson, Jr., Aaliyah Johnson, and Ermani Johnson.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, April 26, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Stone Memorial Christian Church in Collinsville, VA.
