Obituaries

Helen Carol Fitzner Williamson, 91, of Bassett, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2026. She was born to the late Alexander Fitzner and Helen Dalmer Fitzner on October 16, 1934, in Rye, New York. Along with her parents, Helen is preceded in death by her husband of seventy-four years, Tommy Duke Williamson, Sr.

Mrs. Williamson was a devoted wife and loving mother to three children and was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Collinsville.

She is survived by her children, Tommy Williamson, Jr. (Krista Taytum), Alex Williamson, and Terri Williamson; and grandson, Nicholas Williamson (Anna).

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. at Norris Funeral Services in Martinsville, Virginia. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
