Obituaries

Inice Smith Mason Reynolds, 97, of Patrick Springs, Va. passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2026. She was born in Stokes County, N.C. July 4, 1928, to Charles Otis Smith and Mattie Poore Smith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, John F. Mason and her second husband, A. Paul Reynolds; her son, John P. Mason; brothers, Willard Smith and Kenneth Smith; and her sister, Gracie Smith Joyce.

She is survived by her sons, Michael Mason (Nancy) of Jackson Hole, WY, Steven Mason (Cheryl) of Santee, CA, Kelly Mason (Donna) of Patrick Springs, Va. and daughter-in-law, Terri Mason of Boones Mill, Va. She is also survived by four grandsons, Jeremy Mason, Benjamin Mason (Brittany), John Mason (Caitlin) and Felix Mason; two granddaughters, Jessica Mason Riddle (Brian) and Lauren Mason; six great grandchildren, Heidi, Joshua, Issac, Lydia, Charlie and Luna; her brother, Danny Smith (Brenda). Also surviving are stepchildren, Barry Reynolds (Ester), Brent Reynolds, Mark Reynolds and Kay Reynolds; 6 step grandchildren and seven step great grandchildren.

Inice was a graduate of Sandy Ridge High School and received her bachelor’s degree from Aldersgate Bible College. She was member of Salem Church where she was a member of the choir and UMW. She was a lifetime member of the Patrick County Historical Society.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at McKee-Stone Funeral Home on Thursday, April 16, 2026, and will be officiated by Pastor John Franklin. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Critz Baptist Church Cemetery
