James “Michael” “Lit’l Mike” Harris, 46, of Ringgold, Virginia, passed away Saturday, December 6, 2025. He was born April 9, 1979, in Danville, Virginia, to Karen Kaye Huffstickler Kuchinski (Mike J. Kuchinski, Jr.).

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Marvin M. and Carrie E. Huffstickler.

Michael was of the Baptist Faith and attended Glen Hill Baptist Church. He was a proud 1997 graduate of Dan River High School and went on to work as a tattoo artist and body piercer. Outside of work, Michael found his greatest joy in being a father to his daughter, Aubrey; she was his greatest accomplishment, and he loved her deeply. Together they shared so many special moments like riding four-wheelers, drawing, listening to music (with their special song, Grinding all My Life by Nipsey Hussle), looking at Christmas lights, and spending time at the beach. Michael also loved what he called “City Cheese.” He enjoyed attending concerts with his brother; he especially liked Tom Petty, hard rock, and heavy metal. He was known for his incredible sense of humor; he was funny, entertaining, deeply spiritual, and carried an electric soul that truly reflected the rockstar he was. #slumerican

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Amanda Lauren Thompson Harris; daughters, Aubrey Evelyn Harris and Olivia Jefferson (Seth); son, Dylan Jefferson (Sierra); sister, Christina Harris; brother, Joseph Kuchinski; grandchildren, Claire Meadows and Ryder Jefferson; “daughter, Baby D.”, Rikki Miller (Justin); nieces, Emery, Lily and Noel; nephews, Josiah, Fisher, and Jaxon; and brother-in-law, Hunter Thompson (Jordan).

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the many kindnesses evidenced in thought and deed during this difficult time.
