Obituaries

Janet Ellen Caudill, age 55, of Bassett, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 1, 2026, at her home. She was born on March 13, 1970, to the late Dennis M. Claytor and Virginia Ann Claytor. In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Leanne Caudill, and her cherished fur baby, Koda.

Janet was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and treasured friend to many. She was a faithful member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and lived her life with kindness, warmth, and a caring spirit that touched all who knew her. Janet found joy in playing games on her phone, spending time with her grandchildren, and most of all being surrounded by her family and friends.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 36 years, Jerry Caudill; her children, Anlee Jannette (Michael), Cristina Slusser (Charles), Samantha Caudill, and Tabby Caudill (C.J.); her sister, Dreama Benge (David); her grandchildren, Jackson, Elia Eve, Bryson, and Nevaeh; her adopted children, Madison Rose and Brandon Barbour; and her beloved grand fur babies, Malaya, Ivory, Alora, Lady, and Stanley.

She is also survived by her father in law, Jerry Caudill, Sr.; her sisters-in-law, Jennifer Claytor, Lisa Hale, Tina Louise, Lynn Caudill, Trish Caudill, and Nicole Caudill; her special niece, Kendra Claytor; her special nephew, Chris Philbates; her nephew, Travis Claytor; her adopted parents, Tiney Harold, Mama Dave, Clara Craig, and Joey Craig; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

All services will be private.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the Tabernacle Baptist Church family, as well as Twisted Cannabis and the Cannabis Community, for their love, support, and kindness.
