Joe Henry Niblett, 69, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2025. He was born on April 18, 1956, in Henry County to the late Obediah Niblett and Virginia Smith Niblett.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Mae Woody, Stephanie Hairston, and Patricia Hamlett; and two brothers, Obediah Niblett, Jr. and Vernell Penn.

Joe attended school in Martinsville, Virginia, and enjoyed being with people and listening to music. Although he had a lifelong disability, it never stopped him from things he loved like attending concerts at an early age, playing cards, and shooting pool.

He is survived by three children, Shareca Finney of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Sherica Law (William) of Martinsville, Virginia, and Demarcus Tarpley (Ken-Nisha) of Chester, Virginia; three sisters, Mildred McCain (Freddie) of Eden, North Carolina, Katherine Moyer (Emmanuel) of Martinsville, Virginia, Audrey Tolliver (Arthur) of Rocky Mount, Virginia; eleven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Martinsville Chapel, 1425 Greensboro Road, Martinsville, Virginia. Interment will follow at Fair Haven Memorial Park, 18960 A.L. Philpott Highway, Spencer, Virginia. Visitation will be held one-half hour prior to the service. A public visitation will also be held Friday, December 5, 2025, from 2:00 PM-5:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Martinsville Chapel. The family will receive friends at other times at 905 A Street, Martinsville, Virginia 24112.
