Obituaries

Joyce Ann Keffer Ray, 78, of Bassett, Virginia, entered the presence of the Almighty God on April 14, 2026. She was born on December 18, 1947, in Patrick County, Virginia to the late Bittle Keffer and Vera Frances Cassell Keffer.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Richard Keffer and Woody Keffer, and nephews Phillip Stone and Steve Stone.

Joyce placed her trust and faith in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She attended the Collinsville Covenant Brethren Church, where she sang joyfully in the choir, glorifying God and all of His good works.

She is survived by her sister, Frances Stone; brothers, Bruce Keffer and Toby Keffer; son, Patrick Ray (Cindy); daughter, Sara Chaney (Donnie); granddaughters, Courtney Ricketson, Emily Ray, Mallory Ray, Leah Sigmon, Riley Byrd; grandson, Logan Byrd, and dedicated friend and caretaker, Holly Zimmerman.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026, at Collinsville Covenant Brethren Church with Pastor Roy McVey officiating. The burial will be private. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
