Obituaries

Judy Self Plogger, 77, of Bassett was called to her heavenly home Sunday May 10, 2026. She was born July 22, 1948, to the late Rev. Aubrey Levi and Bessie Byrd Self. Judy was a graduate of Patrick Henry Community College and retired from Stanley Furniture Company, and after retirement worked at Martinsville-Hospital as a customer service representative. She attended Greater Vision Church of Rocky Mount, Va. In addition to her parents Just was preceded in death by one infant sister, Susan Self.

Surviving are her husband, Doanld Plogger, one son and daughter-in-law; Jason and Crystal Plogger, one daughter and son-in-law; Wendy and Brian Carter, one brother, Aubrey L. “A.L.” Self and one sister, Patricia “Pat” Hodges, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday May 13, 2026, at Greater Vision Church located at 100 Hale Street, Rocky Mount, VA.24151. with Paster Steve Tilley officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services.

Roselawn Chapel Funeral Home and Burial Park entrusted with arrangements.
