Kathleen Latone Gillespie, 74, of Rocky Mount, Virginia, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, March 20, 2026. She was born July 23, 1951, in Rochester, New York, to the late Robert Hay and Madeline Ferge Hay.

She loved reading, gardening, and word puzzles.

Kathleen is survived by her loving husband of 22 years, Russell Gillespie; 4 biological children, 5 stepchildren, three sisters, one brother, fourteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, several cousins, nieces, nephews, and her beloved dog Ruby.

All services will be private. The family wishes to extend their gratitude for the kindness and support shown during their time of grief.
