Obituaries

Larry Bernard Dickerson, 76, of Martinsville, VA transitioned on Sunday, January 11, 2026 at his home 710 Laurel Park Avenue, Martinsville, VA.

He was born March 9, 1949 a son of the late James and Rosalyn Swanson Dickerson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Martin Dickerson, and his son, Kenyon Sneed

Larry was a faithful member of New Sharon Grove Baptist Church in Axton, VA and was an independent truck driver for 30 years with Dickerson Trucking, LLC.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving daughter, Amber (Rick) Dickerson, Patricia Frink, mother of his daughter all of Whiteville, NC; one step daughter, Tabitha Carter, of Martinsville, VA; two sisters,Joanne (John) Gilchrist and Glenda (Arthur) Rainney, both of Augusta, GA; one brother, Lonnie (Kathryn) Dickerson, of Richmond, VA; and grandchildren Rondell (Trinity) James, Precious James-Carter (Kia) and Seth James, Joshua Carter and Kenyon, Jr..

A memorial service will be held Saturday January 24, 2026 at 3:00 PM at Sharon Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Penn, officiating. Burial will be private.

The family will receive friends at the home on Friday, January 23, 2026 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM only.
