Leonard “Buddy” Lee Harrell, Jr., 64, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2026. He was born January 29, 1962, in Martinsville, Virginia to the late Leonard Lee Harrell, Sr. and Ruth Elizabeth Manning Harrell.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Roach; and brother-in-law, Benny Kidd.

Leonard was of the Methodist faith. He worked for Virginia Mirror for more than ten years, and later worked on a hog farm, which he truly enjoyed. He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved Diet Mtn Dew. He always looked forward to receiving popcorn tins at Christmas and enjoyed hotdogs all the way. Leonard was impressed by 18-wheelers, loved being around children and his family, and was happiest at home.

He is survived by his sister, Sylvia Kidd; nieces, Brandi Jenkins (Stevie), Michelle Cook (Mickey); nephews, Brandon Kidd (Kim); and numerous great nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Although all services are private, the family will receive friends and family at 4185 Old Liberty Drive, Axton, Virginia 24054.
