Marie Ann Ashworth Aldridge, age 88 of Bassett, VA, passed away on April 5, 2026.

Mrs. Aldridge was born on April 20, 1937 in Henry County, VA to Nathaniel Burton Ashworth and Minnie Ann Mitchell Ashworth. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Geneva Mozelle Ashworth, two brothers, Ernest Nathaniel Ashworth, Floyd McKinley Ashworth and a grandson, Allen Aldridge. She was a member of First Baptist Church Bassett. She loved creating floral arrangements, wreath making, collecting sea shells, baking and cooking.

Mrs. Aldridge is survived by her husband, Eugene Hundley Aldridge, two sons, Terry Gene Aldridge (Patricia Thomas), Barry Wayne Aldridge (Lorrie), three sisters, Shirley Jean Ashworth Pearson, Nancy Page Ashworth Roach and Emma Dean Ashworth Joyce, one brother, Earl Ray Ashworth, two granddaughters, Kate Gober (David), Jennifer Schmidt (Ryan), grandson, Brian Aldridge, great grandchildren, Kellen Gober, Landry Gober, Barrett Gober, Declan Schmidt, Caleb Schmidt, Kensley Schmidt, Titus Schmidt andf Eleanor Aldridge.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2026 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church Bassett, 2590 Riverside Drive, Bassett, VA with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM with Reverend Doug Ramsey officiating. Burial to follow in Roselawn Burial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to be made to First Baptist Church Bassett.
