Obituaries

Mary Allen, 64, of Martinsville, Virginia, transitioned to her heavenly home Friday, February 13, 2026. She was born July 29, 1961, in Grundy, Virginia to the late Charles Barrett Lester, Sr. and Pearl Cline Lester.

Mary was of the Christian faith and a member of Morgan Ford Christian Church. Mary loved to sew and cook. She loved her family and friends tremendously and looked for any excuse to gather together and show her love by cooking for all. She loved all animals, especially her pets in which she loved to dote on. Most of all, Mary loved her family and spending time with them whenever she could.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Beverly Michelle Matney; son, Rockey Running Bear Lester (Adele); sisters, Geraldine Blankenship, Patricia Malekouti (Kroshol), Helen Dameron; brothers, Charles Barrett Lester, Jr., Burnis Odell Lester, Carl Edward Lester, Billy Ray Lester (Sandra), Jessie Lester (Angela); grandchildren, Chester Mitchell, Jr., Stephen Mitchell, Tina Michelle Kellenbenz (Keith), Elizabeth Taylor Mitchell; great grandchildren, Cameron Joshua Mitchell, Arianna Rose-Ann Mitchell, Dominic Blaze Mitchell and a host of extended family and friends.

Although the service will be private, the family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude for all thoughts and prayers given in their time of grief.
