Michael Calvin Howell “Mike,” age 63, of Stuart, Virginia, passed away on Monday, April 20, 2026, after a logging accident. He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Della Thompson Howell; brother, Jerry Howell; maternal grandparents, Julie and Moten Thompson; paternal grandparents, Jenny and Tom Howell.

Mike was a timber cutter for over 38 years. He loved to fish and enjoyed the outdoors. He spent most of his early years growing up in Vesta surrounded by family, especially his cousins that loved him dearly.

Mike is survived by his brothers, Ronnie Howell of Henry, Virginia and Ricky Howell of Woolwine; aunts, Dorothy Howell of Vesta and Lola Haskins of Patrick Springs. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

All services will be private. Moody Funeral Home in Stuart is assisting the family with arrangements.
