Obituaries

Oliver Junior Campbell, Jr., 73, of Bassett, Virginia, transitioned to his heavenly home Wednesday, May 6, 2026. He was born October 26, 1952, in Martinsville, Virginia to the late Oliver Junior Campbell, Sr. and Helen Parker Campbell.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Curry.

Oliver attended Trinity Church of the Living God. He was a dedicated and hardworking man who faithfully worked for Stanley Furniture for 40 years. He was a proud graduate of G.W. Carver High School. Oliver enjoyed the simple things in life and in his free time, could be found watching classic westerns or enjoying WWE wrestling. He will be remembered for his srong work ethic, quiet spirit, and the memories shared with those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his sister, Cynthia Campbell; brother, Kevin Dale Campbell; neices, Wykeithia Dillard; nephews, Kevin O’Shane Valentine, Dorian Valentine, and Demetrius Curry.

The funeral will be held Thursday, May 14, 2026, at 11:30 AM at Trinity Church of the Living God. Interment will follow at Trinity Church of the Living God Cemetery. A visitation will be held one half hour prior to the service.
