Mrs. Rebecca “Becky” Mitchell Brown, age 80 of Spencer, VA passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at her home. She was born in Henry County to the late Simpson J. Mitchell and Irene Wood Mitchell, in addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Louis Mitchell; sister-in-law, Anita Mitchell; and brother-in-law, John Boggess, Sr.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years Mike Brown; one daughter, Audrey Brown-King (Kenneth); two grandchildren, Nicholas King (Wendy), and Susan King; four great-grandchildren, Finleigh King, Fletcher King, Eliza Mabe, and Sophia Mabe; one sister, Jeanette Boggess; and several nieces and nephews.

Services for Mrs. Brown will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org, Moorefield Store Volunteer Fire Department c/o Norman Grogan, 1716 Virginia-North Carolina Rd., Spencer, VA 24165, or a charity of the donors choice.
