Obituaries

Robert L. Brooks, Jr., 78, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away Saturday, February 14, 2026. He was born April 19, 1947, in Norfolk, Virginia to the late Robert L. Brooks, Sr. and Sarah Brown Brooks.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Connie Brooks, Laverne Brooks; and brother, Ed Brooks.

Robert was a graduate from Albert Harris High School. He had a 30-year career in the dye house at Bassett Walker Knitting where he always had an excellent work ethic and taught his children those same ethics. He enjoyed going for walks in Jack Dalton Park and watching television. Robert also loved to go riding in his truck and listening to music while going down the road. More than anything else, he dearly loved his family and loved spending time with them whenever possible. His life left a lasting memory on this earth, and he will always be fondly remembered.

Left to cherish his memory, are his two daughters, Tiffany Willis (Edward) and Michelle Pritchett (Willie); sisters, Willie Mae Harris (Peter), Carolyn Faye Witcher (Charlie); brother, Donald Brooks (Sharon); seven grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren, and numerous extended family and friends.
